Greetings to fellow Descendants of Lady Godiva and to members of Ye Royal Court 2024-2026!
Recently the 10th Anniversary of the founding of the Order of the Descendants of Lady Godiva was observed at the place of its founding: The Army and Navy Club in Washington, D. C. A Medieval Evening gathering of members and officers of eight lineage societies for dinner and fellowship was held on April 8th. Attendees received Volume II of Dr. Lynn Kogel’s Pilgimages, entitled: Genealogy of Gothic Cathedral Architecture. Lynn provided us with a slide presentation of many of her wonderful photographs.
Prior to the dinner, Lady General, Ann Garner took my hand and transferred her office to me before Lord in Waiting: Col. Mark E Young , Sr. and a few others. Some officer reports had been previously printed in The Godiva Gazette and no further reports or business was taken.
Planning for a meeting next April has begun and other programs that have been in place for several years will be continued. I am honored to have been nominated as Lord General and look forward to working with everyone to meet our charitable, literary and educational objectives.

Society Colors
Royal Purple, gold (or Yellow), and silver are the official colors of the Society. Royal Purple signifies someone who is born into a life of wealth and privilege. The color purple represents royalty and was worn by both men and women in medieval times. It was worn almost exclusively by members of royal families and leaders of powerful empires. Gold signifies wealth and the color of the sun and stands for good judgment, good spirit and happiness. Silver is a noble metal and stands for peace and sincerity.
Membership
There are numerous ways to connect to Lady Godiva, and if you have a Gateway Ancestor – one who connects to a royal line – you most likely will be able to make the connection. If you have already joined another society which goes back to the Medieval Times, it may be easier for you to join. If you think you qualify, please complete, and E-mail the "Membership Request" form on the Contact Page. Our Genealogist General, Mr. Tracy Crocker, will need to know the name of your Gateway Ancestor.
